Chain type

Represents an nftables chain, which is a named list of rules that are executed in order. Chains can be attached to network hooks or called from other chains.

Fields

Field Name Description
name - String! The unique name of the chain within its parent table.
chainHook - ChainHook Configuration for the network hook this chain is attached to, if it's a base chain. Null if it's a regular chain (not attached to a hook directly).
priority - ChainPriority The priority of this chain when multiple chains are attached to the same hook. Lower numbers mean higher priority (executed earlier).
chainType - ChainType! The type of the chain, indicating its fundamental role (e.g., filter, nat).
chainPolicy - ChainPolicy The default policy for this chain if no rule matches (e.g., accept, drop). Applicable only to base chains.
device - String! The network device name this chain is bound to, if applicable (e.g., for 'netdev' family).
rules - [ChainRule!] A list of rules contained within this chain, executed sequentially.
health - ChainHealth! Health status of the chain.
