# `WindowsDeploymentAction` enum

The action the endpoint intends to perform for an update. Most pending updates have action `INSTALLATION`; the other values describe specialized states (uninstall, evaluate-only, or "available but not selected"). Reference: [Windows Update Agent API](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/api/wuapi/)

## Values

| Enum Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `NONE` | No specific action is planned for this update. The endpoint is aware of the update but has not decided to install or uninstall it. |
| `INSTALLATION` | The endpoint intends to install this update. |
| `UNINSTALLATION` | The endpoint intends to uninstall this update. Used when an administrator or service has scheduled the removal of an already-installed update. |
| `DETECTION` | The endpoint will evaluate whether this update applies to it but will not actually install it. Used for applicability scanning. |
| `OPTIONAL_INSTALLATION` | The update is available for the user to install if they choose, but it is not required and will not be installed automatically. |
| `UNKNOWN` | The agent reported a value that does not match any known deployment action. |
