# `SystemServiceOpenFileFlag` enum

An option systemd applies when opening a file listed in a unit's OpenFile= setting. Reference: [systemd.service(5) - OpenFile=](https://www.freedesktop.org/software/systemd/man/latest/systemd.service.html#OpenFile=)

## Values

| Enum Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `READ_ONLY` | Opened read-only rather than read-write. |
| `APPEND` | Opened in append mode, so writes go to the end of the file. |
| `TRUNCATE` | Emptied when opened. |
| `GRACEFUL` | A failure to open the file is ignored instead of failing the unit. |
| `UNRECOGNIZED` | Systemd reported a flag this build does not recognize. Read flagsBitmask for the raw value. |
