# `SocketType` enum

Type of network socket.

## Values

| Enum Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `GENERIC` | Generic socket type when protocol is unknown or not mapped. |
| `TCP` | TCP stream sockets. |
| `UDP` | UDP datagram sockets. |
| `UNIX` | UNIX domain sockets for local IPC. |
| `NDRV` | Legacy macOS/iOS network driver sockets (NDRV) for kernel network interfaces. |
| `KERNEVENT` | macOS kernel event sockets (KERNEVENT) delivering system network events. |
| `KERNCTL` | macOS kernel control sockets (KERNCTL) for IOKit/BPF/NECP control planes. |
| `VSOCK` | VMware/Hypervisor VSOCK for host-guest communication over AF_VSOCK. |
