# `SimultaneousConnectionType` enum

GPO policy: "Minimize the number of simultaneous connections to the Internet or a Windows Domain" under Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > Windows Connection Manager. Controls how Windows handles simultaneous connections to multiple networks (e.g. Wi-Fi + Ethernet, or cellular + Wi-Fi). Registry: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WcmSvc\GroupPolicy:fMinimizeConnections (REG_DWORD). CIS Benchmark (L1) recommends value 3 (prevent Wi-Fi when on Ethernet) to reduce attack surface. ## Values

| Enum Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `ALLOW_SIMULTANEOUS_CONNECTIONS` | Allow simultaneous connections (registry value 0). No restrictions; the device may maintain connections to multiple networks at the same time. |
| `MINIMIZE_SIMULTANEOUS_CONNECTIONS` | Minimize simultaneous connections (registry value 1). Windows will automatically disconnect from a lower-preference network when a higher-preference connection becomes available. |
| `STAY_CONNECTED_TO_CELLULAR` | Stay connected to cellular when connected to other networks (registry value 2). The device remains connected to cellular even when Wi-Fi or Ethernet is available. |
| `PREVENT_WIFI_CONNECTIONS_WHEN_ON_ETHERNET` | Prevent Wi-Fi connections when connected to Ethernet (registry value 3). Wi-Fi is blocked while an Ethernet connection is active. CIS L1 recommended value. |
