# `RuleSource` enum

Where a rule came from: provided by Wartiva, or created or modified by the organization. Distinct from [RuleType](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/rule-type.html), which describes what the rule does.

## Values

| Enum Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `VENDOR` | Provided by Wartiva with content updates applied automatically. Enabling or disabling the rule does not change its source. |
| `USER` | Created by the organization, or a Wartiva-provided rule whose content the organization modified. Automatic content updates no longer apply. |
