# `OsInfo` type

Basic information about the operating system an Endpoint is running.

## Fields

| Field Name | Description |

| `platform` - [`OsPlatform!`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/os-platform.html) | An enum describing which platform this operating system is. |
| `name` - [`String!`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/string.html) | The name of the operating system. Windows example: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro. macOS example: macOS. |
| `version` - [`String!`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/string.html) | The version of the installed operating system. Windows example: 10.0.22631. macOS example: 14.4. |
| `versionMajor` - [`Int!`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/int.html) | The major version of the installed operating system. Windows example: 10. macOS example: 14. |
| `versionMinor` - [`Int!`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/int.html) | The minor version of the installed operating system. Windows example: 0. macOS example: 4. |
| `versionPatch` - [`Int!`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/int.html) | The patch revision of the installed operating system. Windows example: 0. macOS example: 0. |
| `build` - [`String!`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/string.html) | The build or release number of the operating system. Windows example: 22631. macOS example: 23E214. |
| `installDate` - [`Time`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/time.html) | The time the operating system was installed (not available on macOS). |
| `productType` - [`OsProductType`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/os-product-type.html) | Machine role of the installed operating system: desktop/workstation, server, or Active Directory domain controller. |
| `windowsEdition` - [`WindowsEdition`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/windows-edition.html) | Edition of the installed Windows operating system, decoded from the Windows product (SKU) value reported by the endpoint. Null on non-Windows platforms. |
| `linuxDistribution` - [`LinuxDistribution`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/linux-distribution.html) | Linux distribution running on the endpoint. |
| `linuxOsRelease` - [`[EnvironmentVariable!]!`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/environment-variable.html) | Linux OS release environment variables. Found at /etc/os-release on Linux. |
| `linuxPackageManager` - [`LinuxPackageManager`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/linux-package-manager.html) | Linux Distribution specific package manager (DPKG/RPM). |
