# `NoDriveTypeAutoRun` enum

GPO policy: "Turn off AutoPlay" — NoDriveTypeAutoRun bitmask that controls AutoPlay by drive type. Controls which types of drives (e.g., CD/DVD, removable) are prevented from automatically starting content when media is inserted. Registry: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer:NoDriveTypeAutoRun (REG_DWORD). CIS Benchmark (L1) recommends value 255 (0xFF, all drives) to disable AutoPlay on all drive types. The enum values below represent the states observed in practice; the registry accepts a bitmask. Reference: [Policy CSP - Autoplay (TurnOffAutoPlay)](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/client-management/mdm/policy-csp-autoplay#turnoffautoplay)

## Values

| Enum Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `ALL_DRIVES` | Disable AutoPlay on all drive types. |
| `NO_CD` | Disable AutoPlay for CD and DVD drives only (registry value 0x4 / 4). AutoPlay is disabled for optical (CD/DVD) drives; other drive types (removable, fixed) retain AutoPlay behavior. |
| `NONE` | No drive type AutoPlay restrictions applied (registry value 0 or absent). AutoPlay is permitted for all drive types subject to user and system defaults. |
