# `GraphSearchSortInputColumn` input

The explicit column and direction to sort a graph search's results on. The property may belong to any node in the query tree whose select flag is set — not only the top-level object type — since only selected nodes contribute columns to result rows. When the same object type is selected at more than one node in the query tree, the first occurrence in result-row column order supplies the sort column.

## Fields

| Input Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `propertyPath` - [`ID!`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/id.html) | The dotted property path identifying the property to sort the results on, for example "Endpoint.LastClientIp.Address". The leading segment names the object type to sort on; that type must be selected by a node of the query tree (for example "Device.DisplayName" when a related DEVICE node has select set to true). |
| `direction` - [`SortDirection!`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/sort-direction.html) | The direction to sort the results in. |

## Used by

- [`GraphSearchSortInput`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/graph-search-sort-input.html) input: Selects how a GraphSearchQueryInput's results are ordered.

## Example

### Example

```json
{"propertyPath": 4, "direction": "ASC"}
