# `FileAttributes` enum

Decoded Windows file attribute bit. Values come from the FILE_ATTRIBUTE_* constants documented at [https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/fileio/file-attribute-constants](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/fileio/file-attribute-constants).

## Values

| Enum Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `READONLY` | File is read-only; applications can read but not write to it. |
| `HIDDEN` | File is hidden from default directory listings. |
| `SYSTEM` | File is used by the operating system. |
| `DIRECTORY` | The path entry is a directory rather than a file. |
| `ARCHIVE` | File is flagged for incremental backup; cleared by backup software after archiving. |
| `DEVICE` | Reserved for device-class files (kernel sets this; rarely user-visible). |
| `NORMAL` | File has no other attributes set. Mutually exclusive with the other bits. |
| `TEMPORARY` | File is temporary and may be deleted soon; storage drivers may keep its data in memory. |
| `SPARSE_FILE` | File is a sparse file (large logical size with sparsely allocated clusters). |
| `REPARSE_POINT` | File holds a reparse point (symlink, mount point, or similar). |
| `COMPRESSED` | File or directory is NTFS-compressed. |
| `OFFLINE` | File data has been moved to offline storage; reading may trigger a recall. |
| `NOT_CONTENT_INDEXED` | File should not be indexed by the content indexing service. |
| `ENCRYPTED` | File is encrypted with EFS (or, for directories, new children encrypt by default). |
| `INTEGRITY_STREAM` | File has the integrity stream attribute (verified by checksum on ReFS / specific NTFS). |
| `VIRTUAL` | File is a virtual file backed by something other than disk (system-managed). |
| `NO_SCRUB_DATA` | File is excluded from data integrity scrubbing. |
| `EA` | File has extended attributes. |
| `PINNED` | File is pinned to local storage; cloud providers must keep a local copy. |
| `UNPINNED` | File is allowed to be evicted from local storage by cloud-sync providers. |
| `RECALL_ON_DATA_ACCESS` | File's content is held by a cloud provider and will be recalled on access. |
