# `EncryptionMethod` enum

Encryption method used to encrypt a disk volume.

## Values

| Enum Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `UNKNOWN` | Encryption method is unknown. |
| `BITLK` | BitLocker volume encryption (Windows). |
| `TCRYPT` | TrueCrypt/VeraCrypt style container or volume encryption. |
| `LUKS` | LUKS (Linux Unified Key Setup) full disk encryption (dm-crypt). |
| `NONE` | No encryption applied. |
| `AES128` | AES 128-bit encryption. |
| `AES256` | AES 256-bit encryption. |
| `AES128_WITH_DIFFUSER` | AES 128-bit encryption with diffuser (legacy BitLocker). |
| `AES256_WITH_DIFFUSER` | AES 256-bit encryption with diffuser (legacy BitLocker). |
| `HARDWARE_ENCRYPTION` | Hardware-based self-encrypting drive (SED / eDrive / Opal). |
| `XTS_AES128` | AES 128-bit encryption using XTS mode. |
| `XTS_AES256_WITH_DIFFUSER` | AES 256-bit encryption using XTS mode with diffuser. |
| `APFS` | APFS native filesystem encryption (macOS). |
