# `CivilDateTime` scalar

CivilDateTime represents a civil date and time. A time-zone-independent representation of time that follows the rules of the proleptic Gregorian calendar with exactly 24-hour days, 60-minute hours, and 60-second minutes. This value accepts a variant of the RFC3339 date-time format that omits the time offset but includes an optional fractional time. Informally, the accepted format is YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS[.FFFFFFFFF]. For example "2023-07-04T09:07:02.999999999" represents July 4th, 2023, 9:07 AM and 2.999999999 seconds.

## Used by

- [`DateTimeRange`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/date-time-range.html) type: A time range is a time zone specific pair of start and end times.
- [`DateTimeRangeInput`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/date-time-range-input.html) input: A time range is an inclusive pair of civil start and end times that can be used to filter objects in a query.
