# `ChainType` enum

The type of an nftables chain, defining its role in packet processing.

## Values

| Enum Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `FILTER` | A filter chain is used for traditional packet filtering (e.g., allowing or blocking traffic). |
| `NAT` | A NAT chain is used for Network Address Translation (e.g., masquerading or port forwarding). |
| `ROUTE` | A route chain is used for routing decisions. |
| `UNSPECIFIED` | Type is not specified or unknown. |
