# `AutoDownload` enum

GPO policy: "Turn off Automatic Download of updates on Win8 machines" under Computer Configuration

> Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Store. Controls whether Microsoft Store app updates are downloaded automatically in the background. Registry: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsStore:AutoDownload (REG_DWORD). ## Values

| Enum Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `ALWAYS` | Always automatically download app updates (registry value 2, default when not configured). Automatic download of Store app updates is enabled regardless of network type. |
| `ONLY_ON_WIFI` | Automatically download updates only on Wi-Fi (registry value 3). App updates are downloaded automatically only when connected to a Wi-Fi network. |
| `NEVER` | Never automatically download app updates (registry value 4). Automatic download of Store app updates is disabled; users must manually initiate updates. |
