# `whoami` query

Returns the authenticated user and how the server interprets time zones for the caller's requests: the effective time zone and its short name, the raw `Time-Zone` request header, the current time in the effective zone, and the server's own time. Use it to confirm credentials and to check the zone in which `Time` values are returned.

## Response

Returns a [`WhoamiPayload!`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/whoami-payload.html)

## Example

### Query

```graphql
query whoami {
  whoami {
    user {
      id
      primaryOrganizationId
      timezone
    }
    effectiveTimeZone
    effectiveTimeZoneShortStandard
    timeZoneRequestHeader
    effectiveLocalTime
    serverTime
  }
}
```

### Response

```json
  "data": {
    "whoami": {
      "user": User,
      "effectiveTimeZone": "Europe/Amsterdam",
      "effectiveTimeZoneShortStandard": "abc123",
      "timeZoneRequestHeader": ["xyz789"],
      "serverTime": "2021-10-07T18:23:25.829Z"
    }
  }
}
