# `issue` query

Retrieves an [Issue](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/issue.html) by its graph object id: the triage record for a policy violation on one graph object, which users move between OPEN, IN_PROGRESS, and IGNORED with [issueUpdate](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/mutations/issue-update.html). An issue opens when a policy rule fails against an object; an OPEN or IN_PROGRESS issue resolves when a later evaluation passes, and a resolved issue reopens if the rule fails again. Every graph object lists its issues through `issues`; find them across the organization with [graphSearch](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/queries/graph-search.html) on the ISSUE object type. Returns a not-found error when no object has the id, and an error when the id belongs to another object type.
