# `graphSearchFast` query

Searches the graph and waits for the search to finish, returning up to `first` results in one response — the synchronous form of [graphSearch](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/queries/graph-search.html) plus [graphSearchResults](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/queries/graph-search-results.html), for clients that cannot poll a search job.

The request is held open while the search runs, so use it for small, bounded result sets. A search that has not finished within the server's wait limit returns an error naming its job id; the search keeps running and its results can still be read with [graphSearchResults](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/queries/graph-search-results.html). A search that fails, is cancelled, or expires returns an error rather than the rows it produced before stopping — read the job with [graphSearchJob](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/queries/graph-search-job.html) for its recorded errors.
