# `graphObjectCategories` query

Returns every [GraphObjectTypeCategory](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/graph-object-type-category.html) paired with the graph object types assigned to it. Use this query to build category-grouped navigation over the security graph; every [GraphObjectType](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/graph-object-type.html) belongs to exactly one category, so iterating the result's `categories` visits every known object type exactly once. See [graphObjectTypes](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/queries/graph-object-types.html) for a flat, filterable listing of the same object types.

## Response

Returns a [`GraphObjectTypeCategoriesPayload!`](https://wartiva.com/api-docs/types/graph-object-type-categories-payload.html)

## Example

### Query

```graphql
query graphObjectCategories {
  graphObjectCategories {
    categories {
      category
      categoryLabel
      objectTypes {
        ...GraphObjectTypeInfoFragment
      }
    }
  }
}
```

### Response

```json
{
  "data": {
    "graphObjectCategories": {
      "categories": [GraphObjectTypeCategoryInfo]
    }
  }
}
```
